By clicking on the box at the end of the policy, you hereby give consent to access some of your personal details which include your email, contact details, Age, employment status, location, Dates of birth, postal addresses etc.
We highly recommend that all users read through the policy in order to have an in-depth understanding of the policy. In order to sign up and create an account, you will be required to punch in your First name, Last name, email address, username and create a password of your choice.
These are the prerequisites of creating an account. Once this has been completed, the user will access the playground by simply logging in using their username and password. Sensitive personal information will not be collected.

Booking a Test drive
Personal information will be required for booking a test drive. This information includes Name, surname, phone, Email, location, age and employment status. Documents that will be required include a valid driver’s license, a valid South African ID/Passport number, Bank statements and a valid credit score. The above mentioned and the latter are of great importance because by booking a test drive, the user becomes a prospective car buyer. This is our vetting process in order to ensure that someone who has booked a test drive is indeed a legit prospective car buyer.

As mentioned we are committed to protecting your privacy and data. We do this by following the provisions that are set out in The protection of personal information Act(POPIA) which became effective on 1 July 2001. In South Africa, the right to privacy is protected in terms of chapter 2 of the constitution. Everyone has the right to privacy, which includes the right not to have the privacy of their communications infringed.
The Consumer Protection Act 2008 which was enacted in 2011 applies to the direct marketing of goods as well services to consumers telephonically. The cybercrimes Act NO.19 of 2020 which became enforceable on 1 December 2021 and aims to create new offences that criminalize the theft and interference of data.

Retention and Deletion
WHIPUP will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary for the purpose for which the data was collected and to the extent required by applicable law. If an active user unsubscribes from our platform, we will remove their personal data from our systems and/or take steps to anonymize it.

The communication between the user and the platform(app) will have a secured encrypted connection wherever your personal data is involved. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the Age of 16. WHIPUP will not be held liable for any personal data that is provided by under age children. We therefore suggest that children should be under supervision or parental guidance when engaging with the platform.

If you wish to withdraw your consent, please do contact us or simply log out and delete all information that you have provided.
